Are you passionate about protecting civil liberties and holding public authorities to account? An award-winning and highly respected Civil Liberties team is looking for an experienced Solicitor to join their Actions Against the Police practice.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex, high-profile cases where you can make a real difference to clients whose rights have been breached.

You’ll manage your own caseload, collaborate with a supportive team, and gain exposure to challenging and varied civil claims.

What You’ll Do

Advise and represent clients in civil claims against the police and other public bodies.

Investigate allegations of police misconduct and gather evidence.

Draft letters of claim and litigation documents.

Negotiate settlements and, where necessary, take cases through court proceedings.

Work with expert witnesses, manage disclosure, and prepare cases for trial.

Deliver exceptional client care throughout every stage of the process.

What We’re Looking For

Qualified Solicitor with experience in civil litigation, actions against public authorities or human rights.

Previous experience in Actions Against the Police or civil liberties work is highly desirable.

Strong advocacy, drafting, and negotiation skills.

Ability to manage a busy and varied caseload independently.

Excellent communication and client care skills.

Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational ability.

Assisting with the development of junior members the team.

Attending Court hearings when required.
