Solicitor – Actions Against the Police
We are looking to recruit a Solicitor (Grade B or above, or equivalent experience) to join a nationally recognised Actions Against the Police team, known for handling complex and often high-profile litigation and achieving strong outcomes for clients. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging, meaningful cases within a supportive and progressive environment.
Key Responsibilities

Managing a varied Actions Against the Police caseload from start to finish, including complex civil actions

Running litigation matters autonomously with appropriate supervision where required

Attending Court hearings across England and Wales, with occasional overnight stays

Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and other legal documentation

Liaising with clients, counsel, experts, and other third parties

Assisting with the supervision, mentoring, and development of junior colleagues
-
Contributing to the continued growth and success of the department
About You

Qualified Solicitor (open to candidates at different levels, Grade B+ or equivalent experience)

Strong litigation experience is essential

Experience in Actions Against the Police or complex civil litigation is highly desirable

Able to manage a caseload independently and prioritise effectively
-
Confident attending court and dealing with contentious matters

A collaborative and supportive team player
